We started school this year on September 4th. The first day of school is always so exciting. Natalee, not surprisingly, wore a panda bear shirt. She's very excited about her teacher and some of the kids in her class. This is the first year since 1st grade that she hasn't been in class with her best friend, but she told me she's got it all planned for how they'll meet at recess and play on Fridays.
Natalee came through the door shouting, "IT WAS AWESOME!" at the end of the day. I am so happy that she loves school, is so smart, and such a hard worker.
One of our friends organized a First Day of School Cookie Social. It was so much fun. We went over right after school and there were cookies as far as the eye could see. The kids got to try several, and they ran and played on the grass. It was a good way to blow off some steam and a fun idea for the afternoon of the first day.

First day of school cookie social?! What a great idea. I have the tradition of always making cookies on the first day of school anyway, why not make it a social?
