We went to the fair this past Wednesday. This is one of our favorite traditions. Natalee loves to see all the animals and the shows. We were so glad that Dallas and his friend were able to join us.
We don't usually eat at the fair, unless it's a yummy treat, but this year because of the timing we got dinner. Dallas and Ashley shared a turkey leg and Natalee had a baked potato that had been baked for about 36 hours. I had to put this picture up of Dallas, because his face was too funny.
Visiting the goats is always an adventure. One of them tried to nibble on Natalee's jacket and it really freaked her out.
Here's Dallas showing Natalee how to get kicked by a bull.
We weren't sure what kind of animal this was. He didn't even come over to be petted or anything.
Some might call me crazy, but I love chickens. They are so unique and funny. I love the ones that look like they're wearing poofy hats, I love the speckled ones, I love the vibrant colored ones, I even love this little skinny one, who looks like he could use a sandwich.
Natalee really wanted to touch this bird. How do you say, "Don't do it because it will literally chew your face off" in a way that a child will understand? Again, Dallas looks horrible in this picture. I might have one of him looking normal in here somewhere...perhaps not.
I love the butter sculpture every year. I have no idea how they do this or how long it must take. It's amazing.
At the end of the night, Dallas and Ashley took Natalee on this boat ride, similar to The Tidal Wave at Lagoon. However, it was a much longer ride than the one at Lagoon and it went more vertical. It scared poor Nat half to death, and she's NOT one who get scared easily. Maybe next year, she'll pick something she likes better.

State Fairs are the best.
Good silliness ensues when one is fond of chickens.
I'm sure Dallas appreciates all those pictures. At least Natalee looks adorable.
