Always Remember

On the Saturday before Memorial Day, my family has a somewhat different tradition.  My sisters and I call it "The Death Parade."  The family gathers at the northernmost grave and work our way south to Koosharem, hitting every cemetery with a relative in between.  This year we only went to three; Richfield, Annabell and Koosharem, so it wasn't as long and drawn out as some other years.  It was sooooooooo cold and windy in central Utah, so we were grateful to not be out of the car as much. After the stops in Richfield and Annabell we went to Uncle Mack's for lunch and visiting with everyone else who'd come to the parade.
This is Uncle Brad and Natalee at my Great Grandma and Grandpa Camp's grave in Annabell, UT.
This is my Grandpa Camp's grave in Koosharem, UT.  Since Bennett was there, you know there's about to be something funny happening.  While mom was cleaning off the debris from around the base of the grave, Natalee was trying to find a place for the flower to go where it wouldn't blow away.  MarKey was telling Bennett that this is her grandpa, and his body is here, but his spirit is in Heaven.  Then Bennett said, "And now Grandma is digging him up?"  A teaching moment gone wrong, thanks to the mind of a four year old.
After the cemetery we went over to Burrville, where the kids played in the barn, out of the wind, for a couple of hours.

On our way home we stopped to eat at this restaurant in Salina.  Mom told us their food was so good, and we'd have to agree.  The service was very slow, but the kids were very good.  We had to snap a couple of pictures to document them being adorable.
