The End of Second

Well, we reached the end of another year. I always pray that Natlaee will get a good teacher and have a good experience in school and we are officially 3 for 3 on those prayers. As a result, I get quite sad and a little weepy as we reach the end. Part of it is that I really hate goodbyes, but the other part is that I worry that we won't be so lucky the next year. Anyway, we've had a wonderful year with Mrs. Pack the Pirate Addict. Natalee was so funny because she wanted to wear the same outfit to the last day of school that she wore on the first.
At the school awards assembly she won an award for being Most Improved in Math and also got a Helping Hands award for completing a service program in school, home and the community. They had a raffle for those who turned in reading minutes faithfully throughout the year and she won a new bike helmet. It was a fun day!

At home we had our annual finish line to officially finish the year.

We're not sure where this came from, but some time in the last year Natalee has developed a strange fascination with Red Lobster. She's been begging to go there, even though she had no idea what kind of food they served. So as a surprise we took her there for the last day of school. She loved it and thought the decorations were so pretty. She loved looking at the live lobsters in the tank. She had shrimp poppers, Nathan had habanero shrimp and I had shrimp linguini. Natalee thought it was quite hysterical that we all had shrimp.
