Past Few Days

I thought I needed to get rid of the throwing up story and move on to the other things we did last week after the sickness passed.
On Thursday Natalee got to go on her very first "real" field trip. I say real because she was quick to point out that she's already been on a field trip, but it was in preschool and they didn't ride the bus. I guess riding the bus makes a field trip real? Anyway, the went to The Treehouse Museum and I was blessed (?) to be able to go with them. I was assigned to 4 little girls, one of which had "the pukies" (her words, not mine) and was very melodramatic the whole day, not wanting to participate and generally being a pain in the rear. We drug her along as best we could. I figured she could rest when she got home, right? Plus, if she did throw up, I'm not her mother and bear no responsibility for her and someone else could clean it up. She managed to not puke on anything, which was great!
Here's Natalee in (what she called) her very first play. I guess there are more to come. She had the pivotal role of one of the three sisters, who own an inn and end up stuck to the golden goose of Drummond the Fool. It was pretty cute.
They made a craft, which was billed as a magic wand. Natalee however made a "crystal ball magnifying glass". It's a magical ball that lets you see things and makes things bigger. What an imagination.

Friday night Nathan and I went to the Opera. It was quite the fancy date. I about had to drag him there, but he went and (shocker) really had a nice time. They were doing The Marriage of Figaro, which was very funny and entertaining. Dallas gave us the tickets before he went to Peru, which is the only reason we went since I'm certain it's not something we would have done on our own. Our only complaint was that it started at 7:30 pm and we didn't get home until midnight. That's kind of late for old people like us, but we managed.

I'm glad she got to go on the field trip.

Good for Nathan. I'm not sure Spencer would go to an opera with me.

Yea for Nathan, I am not sure I would even like to go to the opera.
Did you see I finally made a new post? Now I need to figure out how to get the picture from the phone to the blog. That might take me awhile, My Sunny girl will probably have to come and do it.

Hey Shilo thanks for the pictures of the field trip they were great and made Keslee very happy. Thanks for not letting her run the streets. Hope the dramatic puke girl feels better.

Marriage of Figaro - wow, an opera I've actually seen! And, not being an opera fan, I also liked it (even at the age of 14). I remember it being pretty funny. It's possible I liked it because I was there with a school group, including my choir teacher who I had a HUGE crush on.

I agree that cultural things start too late. I want to be home and snuggled up by like 9:00pm. Lame, I know.
