Oh Puke!

This will be a picture free post. You're welcome.
Remember how when you were a little girl (I'm officially not talking to the lovely men who read this blog...this is something you probably don't understand) and you really thought that the most wonderful thing in the world, I mean better than a new pair of Guess jeans or actually meeting a member of New Kids on the Block, was to be a mother? Remember that? Well, let's not kid, it is wonderful, but there are aspects that really leave much to be desired.
Last night (and I do say LAST night since it is 3 am) we sent St. Patrick's Day out in true Irish fashion...with Natalee puking her little green guts out. I'd dyed most of dinner green, so it was a festive event to say the least.
Bless her little heart, she made it to the bathroom, but she got a fair amount on the floor and quite a lot on the rug. She looked down and said, "Mommy, I think I got some on the rug," which was totally hilarious to me in that moment and actually still pretty funny if I'm being honest. We threw her in the bath to scrub her clean, put on new jammies, brushed her teeth and sent her to bed again.
At about 12:15 this morning we heard her yell and found that she'd done a bit more, and had not made it to the bathroom this time. So now all the sheets and the quilt on her bed needed to be changed. Nathan stripped the bed and got the new sheets put on.
I got everything downstairs and then the grossness of the whole evening kind of overwhelmed me. The thought of having vomit covered bedding in my house all night just about made me gag, so I decided that I'd have to do the laundry tonight. And since the washer has in the past lost it's mind and made my life very difficult, I had a slight panic attack after I realized I'd just shoved a quilt into it that was maybe a tad over capacity. So I decided that in order to make my home puke free by morning, I'd have to stay up with the laundry. I put the mattress pad in 15 minutes ago, so we are on the home stretch.
Which brings me to my original point: There are some aspects of motherhood that leave a lot to be desired.

YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THAT, I REMEMBER A FEW OF THOSE INCIDENCES MYSELF. HOPE SHE IS FEELING BETTER NOW.
