Spring Break-a-zona

It was spring break the first week of April and we decided to split from the horrid Utah weather and head to places south for a little R&R. We left after school on Friday, which meant that we crossed the state line pretty late. We stayed in Page, AZ and had a very restful night. The next morning we got up and headed for Mesa. MarKey and her family had been visiting Sunny the week before and we managed to arrive about an hour before she needed to be taken to the airport. It was so fun for the kids to be able to play for a little while. Sunny also got a load of dirt while we were there and they went nuts watching the huge dump truck come into the yard to drop it off. It was so sad that they had to leave just as we got there, but we get to see them all the time, so it was OK.

As You Wish

On Monday we went to a place where you paint your own ceramics. We did a Mommy and Me class where we did a plate with our hand prints. Then we let the kids pick out something else to do. Hayden did a little dog and Natalee made some salt and pepper shakers. It was so much fun.

Hanging Out
We just love being at Sunny's house and doing fun things. We had a mall day, went out for yogurt, sold some used books and videos, saw Hop, went to Sharon's to see her and the dogs, played Chuggington and rode bikes and scooters. It was all pretty relaxing.

Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center

We went to this water park when Hayden went to Kindergarten registration. For the bargain price of $5.75 we were able to have a blast. There were two waterslides, a lazy river, a kids area a whirlpool, and a regular pool. It was so awesome.

The Mesa Temple
Sharon was nice enough to tend the children so that the grown ups could go to the temple. It was the best double date! Afterwards we went out for some Mexican food and Courtney enjoyed bottomless Horchata.

Hayden's little pre-school had a field trip to this farm. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was awesome. They let the kids feed all the animals and had brushes for you to pet them with. They got to go on a hayride to see all the areas of the farm. At the end they got to visit the "Milk Bar" where they mixed up all kinds of flavors of milk. Natalee of course just went with the standard chocolate, but I had "moo-berry" and it was delicious. Then they gave us some ice cream that they also make at the farm. Best part about it was that it was all egg free and Hayden could have some too!!

All the animals were so gentle, but Natalee's favorite by far was the black lab, who would play fetch with anyone willing to throw him the ball. He was a great dog and she played with him for such a long time. We were sad to have to leave and we really enjoyed our time at the farm.

Phoenix Zoo
On our last day we woke up and got our car all packed and headed over to the zoo. It was perfect weather and not very crowded. The kids loved being able to feed stingrays and ride the carousel as many times as they wanted! All the animals were very active since it wasn't very hot. It was fun to have one more thing to do before heading out of town.

We left the zoo and drove to Page again. Natalee thought it was so funny that the hotel gave us the same room that we had on the trip down. The next morning we were off for home. We had awesome pizza in Panguitch and made it home before sundown. It was a wonderful trip and we had a great Spring Break!
