How Much?

Last fall my dad showed up at my house with a huge bag of coins. My dad pays for most things with cash, but he doesn't use his change. So for more than a year, he'd just been putting it in this bag waiting to give us a little project. I wish we'd have taken a picture of the bag or weighed it because it was really amazing how full and heavy it was.
He told Natalee that he would give her 10% of the total if she would count it and put it in rolls.
So we started the process of counting it. We separated it using cups and plates. This exercise couldn't have come at a better time because she was right in the middle of learning how to identify coins and how much each one was worth.
We counted and counted and counted. It took several weeks but we finally got it all done. In total there was more than $320.00 in coins in the bag. Quite a tidy sum for loose change, and Nat was so proud to take her part to the bank after we gave Grandpa his money.

My sister and I were commenting that since he had no clue how much there actually was, we could have taken a chunk and he'd never have known. Darn honesty!
