Anyway....
This piece of lovely came home from school today. I presume it's a Groundhog, but it's got to be the strangest thing I've ever seen.
I don't know if she did something wrong, or if this is how it's supposed to look. I asked her if it was supposed to have teeth and she said no. I asked her if she was going to draw on a nose and she said the pink thing is it's nose. I lifted up the bottom, trying to see if there was a mouth under there, like she'd glued it too far down, and there's nothing. I'm not sure why the poor thing is crosseyed, but clearly it came that way. I also don't know why he's got on glasses with no ear pieces. Clearly it's a very conflicted animal, wearing a blue hat that says Utah on it. Seriously, it is the strangest art project ever.

I really ought to photograph what she's done on one wall, but I haven't yet. When I do, I'll post it because that girl has quite a future ahead of her in the Interior Decorating world. That being said, she was trying to figure out where to hang this darling creation when she decided that it needed to go near the bottom of the wall, that way it would look like it's popping up out of the ground. She's funny.
Speaking of funny, sometimes I like to record the way she explains things. It cracks me up. Like tonight she was singing a little song that went something like this,
"Look at me, I'm ready to hatch."
"Stand back, I'm about to regurgitate."
It was so odd and out of place that I asked her what it was, because I thought she'd just made it up. She said, "I heard it at school." I asked where at school she'd heard it and she said, "Mrs. Pack got these plastic bags from the High School."
Well folks, doesn't that just clear everything up?
Love this girl....like so much it hurts!

I love that the Utah hat is blue, you need to tell her to put BYU on it. I am sure you have told her about the schools by now. At our house right after they day Mom and Dad they say BYU. But wait I think I remember Nathan cheering for the Red school, no that can't be right cause I think Gerald would turn in his grave if he heard that. Anyway glad you took a pic of the groundhog.
so I just looked at the groundhog again and It reminds me of Simon in the Chickmuck cartoons, the old ones.
Oh man, this totally cracked me up. I love the weird groundhog. I mean, it's a seriously weird holiday anyway, it may as well have a weird art project to go along with it.
