Bennett - Day 1

Bennett is staying with us for a few days while MarKey and Jon are on vacation. I promised MarKey I'd put some pictures of him here so that she could see what we were up to since my cell phone is a dinosaur and can't take/send pictures.

I met my mom in Orem and after bribing him with M&M's and juice, he got in my car. He had this little grabber thing that you can kind of see here. He kept squeezing the handle and saying "Catch you!" the whole way home. He also has a little play guitar and when he'd play it he'd say, "Dance, Shilo" and if I didn't dance the right way (and really how can you when you're stuck in a car?) he'd say "NOOOOO DANCE!!!" We had an awesome ride home, playing and giggling all the way.
Right after we got home we had to change clothes quick (he got M&M's all over himself) and went over to Nat's school to help with the class party. He had a blast playing with them and jumping on the bean bags in the library.

When it was time for the treat, he got a chair and pulled it up right next to Nat. He loves to pretend like he's a big kid. After they had their snack, they lined up to go to recess. I told Bennett to tell Nat goodbye and we'd come and get her later. He said goodbye and all was well until she actually went out of the room. Then he started to have a meltdown. He started screaming "Na-ya-yee! Come back! I yuv oooooo! Na-ya-yee!" Natalee's class is about as far away from a door in any direction and I was carrying a very large box, so I couldn't carry him and the box. Therefore, the whole school got to hear this sad plea as we went to the car. It was very sad because he really sounded like it was the worst thing that had ever happened to him. We got in the car and he fell asleep almost instantly. I left him in the car with the doors and windows open and let Dolly play in the front yard while we made sure that he didn't get stolen. We went to pick Natalee up and he woke up about 3 seconds before she came to get in the car. So to him, it was like she wasn't ever gone.

We came home and after a snack, the kids played outside. We turned on a sprinkler and they just ran and ran and ran. They invented a game that Natalee calls "Water Ball" which is basically where you throw a beach ball over the sprinkler. Bennett would grab it and say, "Want play again, Ok sure" and he'd throw it and laugh. He's wearing a dress because he managed to get his clothes dirty with the snack. I wasn't going to let him dirty 3 outfits in one day, so he played in the water in Natalee's shirt.

After playing in the water, I got them inside and made Hot Chocolate while they watched "Woody Buzz".

After dinner and the movie Natalee read Bennett some books. I didn't get a picture of this, but at one point he was holding up Lightning McQueen so he could see the pictures too.
We are having a good time, despite the fact that he woke up at 6:00 this morning. However, it's almost nap time, so all the problems should be fixed soon enough!
