Spring?

It's snowing here today. Like the ugly winter monster returned to remind us that he can come back whenever he dang well pleases until July. Anyway, it got me thinking about happier times, which were just last week, when it was warmer and we were able to play outside and not feel like such hermits.
Natalee enjoyed making bubbles in the backyard on Sunday. It's funny that a week and a few days have made the lawn back there not look quite so dead. There's more green than brown now, even if it is covered with white at the moment.
We were finally able to fly a kite. It had been warm, but not windy. Then it got windy and on the day that we went kite flying, it was maybe a little too windy. This $1 kite almost snapped in half, but we had a good time.

We are still on this kick, just in case anyone was wondering. A couple of funnies:
We had an appointment with the eye doctor a few weeks ago. Natalee thought this was THE coolest elevator she'd ever seen.
I think it's because of the palm trees, but that's just a wild guess on my part.

Natalee made me a shopping list last week. It said:
Milk
Peas
Rice
Puppy

Last weekend we were at my Mom's house and my dad came in and rumpled Natalee's hair.
She said, "Grandpa, was that really necessary?"

Last Friday Nat had a friend over and they were playing hospital with the Barbies. This conversation ensued:
Friend: "This Barbie is really sick....she needs a brain transplant."
Nat: "Yeah, she is really sick. She's got a broken arm too!"
I don't think I want to know what accident produced those two ailments.

Ha! I love the bitter springtime tone. But, even more, I love the shopping list.
