Disneyland!!!

"Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy."
~Walt Disney

Mom and Dad took us to Disneyland for Christmas, and might I say that it was a most wonderful gift indeed. The decorations were awesome, the weather was mostly fantastic and the crowds weren't as bad as I expected.
To start off, they were taking us on the 19th of December. Natalee's birthday is the 18th of December and with the birthday promo happening this year we couldn't resist opportunity to spend her birthday there too. We actually told Natalee we were going on the day we left. She was so excited. We spent the night close to the park and arrived just after they opened. It was a wonderful day to be spending at Disneyland. They gave her a button with her name on it and she was wished Happy Birthday about 100 times. You might notice that she's wearing shorts. Yes, as an extra birthday present, it was 78 degrees in good ol' Anaheim.

For our special birthday girl, we had a special birthday lunch. We went to Ariel's Grotto and it was so fun and yummy. I am a huge tight wad (yes, self proclaimed...I've come to grips with it) but this was totally worth it. First of all, each princess comes right to your table and chats for a minute, lets you take a photo and signs her autograph. I kind of expected the food to be gross, (well, perhaps not GROSS, but amusement park quality, you know) but it so wasn't. Not only was it really good, but there was a ton of it. Natalee had meatball lollipops, which she thought was hysterical and wants me to make at home. Her favorite princess was Snow White, and her second favorite was Aurora. Personally, I thought Aurora was the best one and Snow White was a little annoying. Poor thing actually talked like she does in the movie. I think that would be hard.

At the end of the meal, they brought Natalee a brownie with a candle and sang Happy Birthday. She was kind of embarassed. They brought Nathan and I a dessert tray to share. We would have shared with Nat but she had that birthday brownie, so she was set. That seashell on the tray is made out of white chocolate. Natalee put it up to her ear and got chocolate in her hair. Oh, and the reason she looks a little polygamist-ish is because the dress is "itchy" and she wanted to wear all her regular clothes under it. Are you going to argue with a birthday princess? I thought not.
Here are some other fun shots from that day.

We spent December 19th, 21st and 22nd at the Parks with my family. It was so fun that everyone was able to go. We were also very grateful that no one got sick. My mother about worried herself right to death over that one. The kids were all so cute and it was so fun to see the wide eyed and excited over everything. It was the first visit for all the kids except Natalee and also my sister in law Nia. Natalee loved most of the "big" rides this time around. When we went before, she was still kind of little, so we didn't want to scare her. This time she loved the Haunted Mansion and Pirates, which are two she totally hated before. She hid on the floor of the Doom Buggy the last time we went. She also loved Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountian. She didn't like Splash Mountain. I think the drop terrified her. Last time we went she didn't like any of the "dark" rides, like Snow White, Alice, etc. We only went on one of those to see if she liked them any better this time and she didn't. That turned out to be quite a time saver.

You know, such magical things can happen at Disneyland. You can even catch your grandma coming down a huge slide and drink the marinara sauce that came with your lunch through a straw. It's super.

Oh my, that looks fantastically fantastic. I have a wish of spending Christmas in Disneyland (and I'm not even a big Disney fan - I just love their parks).

It looks awesome. I so wish I could have seen her face when the surprise was announced.
