Shoot Em' Up!

My mom works at a doctor's office. Last Friday Natalee and I went to Heber for a sleepover and decided to get flu shots while we were there. The nurse (a wonderful, long time friend of the family) asked Natalee if she wanted to watch me get my shot. Natalee gave an enthusiastic YES and then the nurse asked, "Well, do you want to give it to her?" My little curious girl jumped all over that one! The nurse showed her where to put it and she jabbed it in my arm. Then she pushed in the plunger, without holding onto the sides, thus jamming it further into my arm. I am not a wuss about needles and things, but I must admit that it's the most painful flu shot I've ever had.
Sunday rolled around and we were at MarKey's for Conference. Mom had brought a dose of flu shot to give to Dallas and asked Natalee again if she'd like to give it to him. She agreed. She did better on his since Mom showed her the right way to hold the needle and push the plunger. Dallas said his didn't hurt, but I know he was a little bit nervous. I love the look of determination in this shot. So funny. Dallas came out with a smile on his face, so we know he wasn't mad.

I think Natalie should be a nurse for Halloween. I am impressed you let her give you a shot. I am not a wimp about shots and needles but I don't know that I would trust Keslee...I guess our relationship is not as advanced as yours and Natalie's

Wow, she's way braver than me. I wish ALL vaccines and shots could be misted or swallowed.
Did I just admit my wussiness? Well, I am a wuss about some things, but I did give birth to a 9lb 7oz baby with no pain meds 3 years ago. And even on purpose...so...things even out.

Natalee is so cool.

I'm not a wuss about needles, which is why I'd never give birth (to any size baby) without a healthy dose of meds. Jessie is a better woman than me. ;)
