My Little Engineer?

For the past several weeks, any time Natalee is left alone, we've been finding that any objects around her have been stacked in a pile. She calls them either playhouses or towers. It's gotten a little out of hand. When she was about 4 she used to make playhouses. I wish I had a picture to put here, but I don't. The playhouses consisted of dragging out a bunch of random things, putting them in a circle and then she'd sit in the middle of it. It was a huge mess phase. These messes are a little more controlled, but still. How do I harness this creativity? I know this doens't look all that impressive, but she'd actually done three different things with these vacuum attachments, including stacking them end to end. She had to get on the table to do the last one and I am kicking myself that I didn't get a picture of that. She played with these, plus a hose, for well over an hour one Saturday. These are her baby blocks that I got out a few weeks ago when we had Bennett overnight. She won't let me put them away and has played with them more in the recent past than she ever did as a baby. Notice the random foam hair curler? This girl is worse than a baby when it comes to finding things I didn't even know were on the floor.
Finally, we have the DVD and video tower, complete with the Little People barnyard animals, their fences and a couple of random fake food items. This is the 5th tower in a series. She'd built it several different ways on this particular afternoon and insisted we leave it up to surprise Daddy.

How cute! I do see some type of engineering in her future. Keslee makes HUGE messes all over the house with art supplies. She says she wants to be an artist so that when she dies people will tell stories about her to kids at schools. They are at a funny age.

Wow. Pretty impressive really. Engineer or famous sculptor.

I've been surprised that having all boys hasn't resulted in similar stacks at my house. But not so far. It's all dinosaurs and cars.
I love the dvd stack. So cool!

Personally, my favorite is the one with the curler. She stacked the little books so perfectly to support the blocks. It reminded me of Jenga.
And Keslee's new school must be very advanced. I'm not sure we've heard anything about dead painters in our first grade. :)

It will be fun to see how she developes this talent.

That is very interesting, I never had that fun of an experience.
