The Frog Whisperers

Kae invited us to come with her kids and parents frog hunting. It was so much fun. Jim has rigged up a fishing pole so that he doesn't hurt the frogs. All you do is dangle the line and they jump right onto it. Then you put them in a net and you've got yourself a little froggie to play with for a while. There were so many frogs at this pond! I'd never seen anything like it!
Natalee was the second one to get a frog. It took kind of a long time to get the rest of the kids one, so she got to hang on to her's for a while. At first she just liked watching it squirm around, but then she got brave and touched it. Then she got really brave and held it!
All the kids had such a good time and we were so glad that Kae called to invite us!

This is the one I caught. I think it was the best one.

Natalee named her frog Greenie. She was kind of stressed when we had to let them go, but I told her if we took it home not only would it be seperated from it's family, but it wouldn't be here to see next time....and I do have a feeling there will be a next time.

RUN GREENIE, BE FREE!!!!!

How fun, I remember when Deano used to take the boys and all the neighborhood kids frog hunting. He would even take hot dogs for them to roast and eat. They loved it.

I LOVE the first two pictures. Oh, just perfect summer little girl squeamishness!

I don't know why she's making those faces, to be honest. Kae can attest that she really wasn't scared to hold them at all. I think I caught her just after a smile both times so it kind of looks like she's turning up her nose at the situation, but she wasn't. In fact, I had to tell her several times to quit touching it for fear that she'd kill it.
