Our Funny Girl

The other night we were doing garbage. Natalee had three small bags in her hands and I asked if she could take one more. She said, "Um Mom, I kinda got my hands full here."

Nathan and I were out in the garden and Natalee was eating her lunch inside. She came out to help when she was done, and when we were coming back in she said, "Mom, I was looking out the window and saw you and Daddy in the garden and I said to myself, I think I'd like to plant a few things too. So I came out to help. Actually, I didn't say that, I just thought it in my head because I was alone. If someone was there I would have said it out loud, but no one was. I was all by myself, but then I came out here with you and we planted."

Natalee was watching Sleeping Beauty, which by the way, she's refused to watch for several years since Malefecent scares her. Anyway, it got to the part where they lock Prince Phillip in the dungeon and Natalee shook her head and said, "Oh no, this can't be good."

Last Monday I told Natalee to get her shoes on because Daddy was coming home soon and we were going out for Family Night.
Natalee: What are we doing?
Mom: I don't know, Daddy has something special in mind.
Natalee: What shoes should I wear?
Mom: I don't care.
Natalee: I'm gonna wear my good runnin' shoes, you know, just in case.

This morning Natalee came in to my room to wake me up. She said, "Mommy, I love you....and dolphins."
I'm grateful that I come in first.
