Another History Lesson

This time the subject is:

Today Natalee was talking on the phone with my mom and mom said something about Martin Luther King Jr. Natalee said, "Oh we talked about him a long time ago." Tonight I decided to find out what they'd talked about. According to Natalee:
~ Martin Luther King was a good person
~ Martin Luther King had skin that is kind of a brownish color
Then we were treated to this summation of the civil rights movement:
"The people with black skin had to drink bad water, the people with white skin got to drink good water. Martin Luther King got it so the black people could drink the good water too."
If only it had been that simple, but I guess for Kindergarten that's as much as they need to know.

Wait isn't that what really happened? I thought it was all about the drinking water too...

so cute! Bransen gave me a summary too... "MLK was a brown man who gave a big speech that everyone should be nice to everyone and then he went to his hotel and someone who didn't like his speech killed him and that was really very sad because he was such a good man." I love their innocence.

I asked her too if she knew how he died and she said no. I found that odd since they told them how Lincoln died and it was the same way. Kind of odd.
