I know it's January. I don't even have to look at my calendar. Here's how I know.
1- There is no honey baked ham in my fridge.
2- There is nothing in my house meant to be served smeared on a cracker.
3- I am feeling resentful of my Christmas Tree.
4- I feel guilty for still having my tree up.
5- I hate getting up in the morning.
6- I make every excuse known to man to not have to leave my house.
7- It's freezing outside.
8- There is snow/slush in every factor of my life.
9- I have blisters from my snow boots.
10- Snow, snow, snow and more snow.
I love December, but I hate January. This seems to be something other's struggle with too, so it's not like I think I need pills or anything, but I do wish my attitude would change.
However, there is one reason, and one reason only that I look forward to January and it came a few days ago.
My delivery of oranges came from Uncle Les. Having these little beauties (A WHOLE BOX) makes January bearable. I can sit on my couch and eat them and realize that a mere 10(ish) hours away they are growing on a tree. It makes it not feel so cold. I am happy each and every year that they share the literal fruits of their labor with me.

Those were the best oranges. Thanks for sharing them. Yummy
Too bad you are too young to be a Winter Visitor in Arizona. That would solve all your problems. Come on down. I would love to have you visit.
I am also glad that you get delicious oranges. I did not share the orange I brought home with me. Too bad for them.
Yes, we do love Uncle Les' oranges. Why didn't I get any though?
I am sorry you have the January blues...I'll tell you what makes it worse for me....I don't have any oranges to eat!
I am eagerly awaiting the next post. Have you gone on vacation?
