#10

I'm dreaming of a....Starring: Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and (the skinny woman who’s name I didn’t know until last year) Vera Ellen.
Plot: Bob Wallace and Phil Davis are former soldiers who've come home from the service and have become famous singer/entertainers. They finishing up a gig in Florida but on the way of town they stop at a club to see the sisters of their former army buddy perform. The girls have to get out of town, and since they are cute, Phil offers them their train tickets. Both couples end up on a train together to Vermont, where the girls are booked at a ski lodge. When they get to the lodge, the find that it's run by their former commanding officer. He's kind of down and out with a struggling lodge. Bob and Phil decide to help out and at the end everything is good, they fall in love and it snows.
Favorite Moments:
-Bing and Danny singing “Sisters” with the fans and sparkly barrets
-Danny faking the old war injury to get the General to walk him around the barn so that he can’t see the announcement on TV (probably just a small internal muscular hemmorage)
-Bing and Rosemary singing "Count Your Blessings"
-The Grandaughter talking the General into wearing his uniform to the play
-The back of the theater opening up to reveal soft falling snow
Quotes:
Phil: When what's left of you gets around to what's left to be gotten, what's left to be gotten won't be worth getting, whatever it is you've got left.
-----
Phil: I want you to get married. I want you to have nine children. And if you only spend five minutes a day with each kid, that's forty-five minutes, and I'd at least have time to go out and get a massage or something.
-----
Phil: I don't seem to have the tickets, I must have left them in my girdle. (searching) I don't seem to have any cash either.
Bob: Where'd you leave that, in your snood?
-----
Bob: We ate and he ate. We slept and he slept.
Phil: The he woke up and nobody slept for 48 hours.

Next up: #9
Clue: It's another oldie!
