Happy Valley Weekend

We got up on Saturday the 3rd and decided we were up for a little more driving!  We took the road north to State College, PA to see Skip, Nia, the girls and the new boy.

Speaking of which - Here's the new boy!  

Sawyer was born on June 8th and we were so happy to meet him!

Whipple Dam

We drove straight to Whipple Dam, a state park in the mountains outside State College.  It was so much fun.  The kids had a blast playing in the water and we had the most wonderful hamburgers for lunch.  We played until a rainstorm forced us to leave.  It was so much fun!

Bird Sanctuary

I'm not sure if this place has a name, but after Whipple Dam we headed over to this sanctuary where they rehabilitate injured birds.  It was really fun and the kids loved seeing the eagles, owls and hawks.  They had nice trails to walk on and beautiful flowers.

Berkey Creamery

We got some yummy ice cream at the creamery.  They have the biggest cups of ice cream and so many flavors to choose from.  I had probably the best mint chocolate chip of my life, and everyone seemed to have a good time. 

 At church on Sunday we blessed Baby Sawyer.  All of the clothes that we brought for church on Sunday were stuck in MarKey's not at the house truck.  Luckily, Jon had some clothes that fit Nathan, but he had to buy new shoes.  I was able to wear a shirt I brought, but had to buy a skirt.  Natalee wore a skort and got a new shirt and shoes.  It all worked out and looking at this picture, I guess we look pretty good.

Penn State Sights

After church we went over to the Arboretum on Penn State campus for a picnic lunch.  It was so fun to let the kids run and play in such a pretty place.

The kids all loved this pond and one of them might have fallen in it.  The little plant they are touching would curl up when you put your finger on it.  It was fun and interactive.

Here's Skip and his family in front of the law school.  I think he spends a little bit of time here.  He took us inside and showed us all around. It was fun to see where he's been working and studying.

Natalee has always wanted to see fireflies.  We were so happy that they were out at Skipper's house.  It was so fun to catch them and see them.  I think those little light spots in these pictures are them.  Natalee had so much fun chasing them and trying to catch them.  Madeline is really good at catching them and Natalee managed to get one too.

Our hotel had a fish pond by it.  On Monday morning Natalee and Bennett took some cheerios from the breakfast to feed to them.
