January

Usually January is a very hard month for me to get through. It's cold! Also, we are usually really busy the last two weeks of the year with birthday and Christmas, so January is kind of a let down. However, this year wasn't that bad. Maybe it's that we were looking forward to our trip, or maybe I was just better prepared. Anyway, here are some cute tidbits from the month.
Perhaps I am very strange, but I take a lot of pictures of Natalee when she's sleeping. It always amuses me the positions she ends up in. Anyway, thought this one was pretty funny.

One Sunday during church Natalee was looking at a Friend Magazine. She saw a recipe for these little things called Bunny Buns, which are basically orange rolls. She insisted that we make them after church, and so we did. They were quite yummy and we had to find a way to share them so we didn't devour each and every one!
We made a paper chain to count down the days to Disneyland. It was the highlight of the day to be able to rip one off every morning.
Hooray! It snowed in January and one day there was even enough to play in before it all melted.
Natalee and her dad both love playing Monopoly. I don't so much love it, so I let them play together. It's good bonding over the buying and selling of properties.
Natalee is still quite the little organizer. When she finds things laying around, she'll usually pick them up and stage them in some manner. This day we found the doll (propped up with couch pillows) reading the liner from a CD, playing Uno and looking through a kaleidoscope.
Finally, a picture of birds. One day it was very cold and very windy. I saw these birds in the parking lot at Target and felt so bad for them, but I thought it was a good photo to illustrate how cold it was.

Anyway, there you have January in a nutshell at our house!

Yeah, January blahs. I've got them in February.

The staged doll scene cracked me up.
