Long Beach - The Aquarium of the Pacific

Natalee and I drove to Long Beach one day and I was so proud that I did it all by myself, using only a map to navigate. It helped that it was very well marked, but still, big pat on the back for me.
We went to The Aquarium of the Pacific and walked around the harbor and these little seaside shops. We had lunch at Chili's and saw a lighthouse.
Look! Natalee is holding a bird! This is monumental due to the fact that up until a few weeks ago, Natalee was terrified of birds. I don't really know where the fear comes from, but she has it nonetheless. Anyway, at this aquarium they have Lorikeets and you can buy a little cup of nectar to feed them. They are so pretty. They are also very conditioned to fly on the people that have the little cups. At one point I had four on me, one on each shoulder, one on the arm and one on my head. Anyway, I was very surprised that Natalee held them and let them drink. I thought she'd shudder and jump out of the way and spill her nectar, but she didn't.
She loved the Lorikeets.

We had a lot of fun at this Aquarium. There were seals, sea lions, otters, very scary crabs, several varieties of jelly fish, and lots of things to pet and touch. There was a station where Natalee could pretend to be an animal doctor and a fun splash pad. We were really glad we'd made the trip.
