Holy Cow - What a Week!

Sunny and Hayden were in town this past week and we had a very busy time indeed. Last Saturday we had a very fun afternoon with Brett, Kae and their kids. I am so sad that I didn't get any pictures, but I forgot my camera. We had pizza and played football. There were of course fireworks on the 3rd and church on the 4th. We met at mom's house on the 4th for an all-American BBQ, which was fantastic. Then we went home to rest up because on Monday we
went to Lagoon.
Natalee said the family prayer on Sunday night and blessed that "we will all have a fun day at Lagoon tomorrow, and there will be no fighting and no hitting and everyone will talk to each other all day." Now, we're not usually a family in the habit of doing those kinds of things in the first place, so I don't know where she came up with all that. However, there wasn't too much of anything bad and a whole lot of all things good. We had a very fun time, with the exception of when The Dinosaur Drop broke and Bennett and I had a very tense 3 hours (well, more like 5 minutes) at the top before we were rescued.

On Tuesday we met up in Provo and took the kids to see How To Train Your Dragon. It was highly entertaining and very cute. MarKey and Bennett got there a few minutes after it had started, so they had to sit down in the dark. About 20 minutes into the film Bennett turned and looked at me and said, "Oh hi!" He didn't know we were all there. He's so funny and the only kid I've ever seriously thought about kidnapping.
On Wednesday we had a water party at my house. It was so fun to have everyone here and the kids had a blast. Well, everyone had a blast until Sunny tried to show the kids how to use the Slip and Slide by throwing them down it. I still don't think Bennett is speaking to her.
The kids took breaks from the water fun and we had a yummy BBQ when the dads came home from work.
On Thursday I went to my moms, where my sisters and I took turns looking through things Dad has been storing in a shed for the past 15+ years. We each took home some treasures.

Friday morning we said goodbye to Sunny and headed to Salt Lake. Friday, incidentally, was Chick-Fil-A Cow Appreciation day. This has become a little holiday for MarKey and I. We highly recommend going to the location at Bangerter and 90th south. They give you a free Value Meal for the smallest attempt at dressing like a cow. They even have outdoor activities, like music, dancing, bounce house, and face painting. The kids had such a good time, and the fact that it was free made it all the better.

After all that, I thankfully got to sleep in until 8:30 this morning. All the excitement just about wore me out, but it was worth it. Let's get a mooooove on to next week. I'm sure it'll be less busy, but not as much fun.
