We left Albuquerque on what we thought would be another 10 hour drive. This ended up taking a little over 13 hours. Let's just say that driving across Texas really feels like forever, and not in a good way. There's just really not much to look at unless you like water towers, windmills, oil wells and cows. Natalee also decided to really step out of character and need to use the bathroom 300 times along the way. She's usually good to go for about 8 hours at a time, but not this day. The plus side is that they have really nice rest areas in Texas. One of them seriously looked like a mall. We also had an experience in a port-o-potty, which we don't need to talk about.
Natalee playing at one of the rest areas. She also got to pet a dog here, which was a source of endless conversation.
Mom had an idea to make a trip quilt as part of the driving entertainment. Here they are working on it. I'll have to post a picture when it's finished, but it was a very cute idea and Natalee loved picking out the fabrics and learning how to sew them together.
Playing at another rest area. I'm not kidding, these bathrooms were nicer than any gas station. Heck, they were nicer than Target. This particular rest area had a pretty elaborate playground, which Nat loved for a little while.
We watched, but thankfully didn't see any.
We stopped in some town for dinner. I honestly can't remember the name of it and I'm too lazy to look it up. They had a restaurant called "Cici's Pizza" which we don't have in Utah. It was yummy and Natalee was in heaven. They have a type called Macaroni and Cheese pizza which is literally mac and cheese on crust covered with more cheese. Let's just say it was pretty tasty.
We finally made it to the hotel. We were just about dead, but we had a good night's sleep and prepared for the next day. The hotel had one of those make your own waffle stations, but in Texas instead of round or square, they have Texas shaped waffles. Pretty fancy. It was also Easter Sunday and the Bunny managed to find us and make Natalee's treasure hunt to find her basket in the limited space we had. She got some goodies to munch on and a new Webkinz.

AZ has a Cici's Pizza. We used to eat there a lot because it was around the corner from our house. We never tried the mac and cheese pizza, our loss. I wait for the next part of your trip
Next time you come down to AZ, we will have to go to Cici's, there is one right around the corner from Mike. Probably the one Kae is talking about. I am loving your vacation,
