We almost had our first "I can't go to school because I'm sick" day. She had a "scratchy" throat and had caught a "horse" in it. I said she could stay home. I geared up for a lazy day in bed. I got in the shower. When I got out, she was standing on the landing in her underpants. I asked why she took off her pajamas and she said she wanted to put on different ones, ones without buttons. Then she asked me for a piece of paper. When I asked what it was for she said, "I'm going to write down all the fun things we are going to do today."On one level it made me sad, but I made her get dressed and took her to school. We'll have to save the "fun" things for Saturday.

I remember the first "sick day" Hunter had...he was so upset that he was required to stay in bed and couldn't play after school when his friends came home...I remember he said it felt like being grounded. I think it wan't until Jr. High that I truly mastered the "sick day".
Nice try Miss Nat!!
