How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

I guess I don't know if this is weird or not, but Natalee made her very first purchase with her own money on Saturday. She is quite the saver, but not a spender and consequently she's got a bank full of coins and a few dollars.
Anyway, this story really started on Friday. I had to go to the mall. At the mall they have four stores that sell Webkinz animals. Whenever we go to the mall she always wants to go and look at the Webkinz. I had nothing else to do so we went to all four stores. At one of the stores she asked if she could buy one. Now, I also have a pretty strange child in the fact that she rarely, if ever, asks me to buy her things while we're out shopping. However, I told her that I didn't bring money to buy a Webkinz, but her birthday/Christmas are coming and if that's something she wants she can ask for it blah, blah, blah (don't I just sound like a mom??). She said that she would really like to have one right now, and not have to wait which is when I thought of her bank back at home. I told her that I thought she probably had enough to buy a Webkinz with her own money and we could count her money when we got home. We counted, and she did in fact have enough. She actually has more than enough, thank you tooth fairy and Grandpa's coin deposits. However by then she was kind of done talking about it and we moved on and I thought that maybe the thought had passed and we wouldn't hear about it again. Oh, no....that was not the case. She told me on Saturday that she'd made her decision and wanted to go back and get a dog Webkinz. Little did I know that she'd been thinking about it. We went over with dad and she picked out a pug. Then she and daddy counted out the money and paid the lady. She also showed the lady the pictures of her cousins that she has in her little wallett.

She was so proud of herself and she wants to keep saving to get things she wants. I guess it never occured to her to spend it before, but we might have a little shop-a-holic on our hands.
