Natalee Says...

Tuesday morning Natalee was hard to wake up. She said, "I know I'm supposed to wake up, but my body says I'm tired!"
***
"I can't wait to go to the dentist and show him my loose and missing teeth. I bet he's never seen anything like it!"
***
We were doing homework last night and Natalee had to write some words that ended with -am. She needed one more and couldn't think of anything and said, "Can't I just write another word that I know instead?"
***
Natalee is learning about syllables in school. Last night she was saying words and we were clapping out the syllables. When she said bedroom I told her that's a special kind of word called a compound word, it's where you take two words and put them together to make another word. She says, "Oh, like Dol and Phin make Dolphin." I said, "No, because Dol and Phin aren't words by themselves." She says, "Yes they are! This is a doll (pointing) and a fin is like a fin on a fish. See, dolphin!"
How can you argue with that?

I thought this was so funny I asked Keslee if she thought dolphin was a compound word, she said "of course it is", and had the same reasoning as Natalie. I really don't see any way you can argue, six year olds win!

She is quite a character. You gotta love her. That is some cute stuff she comes up with.
