This is the one MarKey said wasn't a Christmas movie, however since it's my favorite movie of all time AND it's my list, I can do whatever I want, right? The reason that I classify this as a Christmas movie is because I think it had to be set Christmastime. Lucy was alone working on Christmas because she has no family and that sets up the entire movie. But if you disagree, sorry….again, my list.
Starring: Sandra Bullock, Bill Pullman, Peter Gallagher, and Peter Boyle
Plot: Lucy has no family and therefore is left alone working the L on Christmas Day. She sees handsome Peter pushed from the platform onto the tracks. She saves his life and due to a mix-up at the hospital Peter’s whole family thinks they are engaged. Then Peter’s brother Jack enters the picture. He and Lucy fall for each other, but then Peter wakes up and Lucy has to pick. What will she do?
Favorite Moments:
- Lucy lugging the tree through the window, only to drop it and have it break a window downstairs. This is also our first Joe Jr. encounter. He’s my favorite.
- Lucy’s first meeting with the family. They all rush in and she’s trying her best to explain, but it just gets more confused. Then they invite her for Christmas.
- Lucy spending Christmas with the Callahan’s and meeting Jack.
- The random paper boy crashing on his bike.
- The Christmas Mass with the Grandma making random comments. “How did Joe Kelly get to be a lector? He takes Marajuana.” “I like Mass better in latin. It’s nicer when you don’t know what they’re saying.”
- Jack questioning Lucy with all of Peter’s favorites and she ends up telling them Peter’s “pencil secret”.
- Lucy and Jack trying to move the couch into Peter’s apartment, knocking over the table and spilling the blue water.
- All the interactions with Lucy and her boss. He is just so rational and she’s just not.
- The pregnancy misunderstanding at the New Year’s party.
- The wedding. Jack is so upset and Peter is so confused.

So there...it's a Christmas movie. Here are Lucy and Jack by a Christmas tree to prove it.
