Zoo-Riffic!

Nia, MarKey and I took the kids to the Zoo last Monday. It was so much fun and the weather was totally wonderful. Here are the three kids sitting in their strollers. (Yes, my almost 6 year old insisted that she too needed to ride in a stroller.) This is the only time the entire day that all three of them were in the strollers at the same time so it was a noteworthy shot.

Straight through the gate Madeline saw the turkeys roaming freely. She felt that they would be as excited to see her as she was to see them, so she wriggled free of the confines of the stroller and the chase was on. Poor Turkeys! They thought they had until November to be this scared and defensive. She's such a delightful little girl we couldn't stop her. My child was running in totally the opposite direction (this is a BIRD after all) so there are no shots of her terrorizing the turkeys.
We proceeded to the white aligator. We saw him last year, but he was sitting way in the back and not moving. We thought he might be a fake. However, he was close enough this year that we could see him blinking his freakish blue eyes, so it's all good.

We moved on to the giant elephant. Note Nat's expression.
She HATES the elephant because it
#1 Makes lots of noise
#2 Potentially gets you wet
Not popular in her world. However, she was a very good sport and posed for a picture.
After this photo was taken we went to the bird show where a giant owl nearly clocked her in the head. Also, not popular since owls are also BIRDS! She just hates birds.

In the Rhino house a woman said to her child, "What is the sign for Rhino." and Nats was able to quickly give the answer before the other child even processed the question. She's quite the smarty pants. I'm still totally shocked at how much sign she remembers.

Now for the good stuff!!!
After a delightful lunch at the Cat Wok Cafe we moved on to Nat's most favorite animal of all - THE GIRAFFES! This was the best day ever because there were not only multipal giraffes, but a mom and a baby! Words can't really express how much she loves (is obsessed with) giraffes right now.

She'd REALLY like this giraffe for her room.
Does anyone have $249 they aren't using?

Then we got to see her second favorite animals - the Geebras!

We took the obligatory "How Do You Measure Up?" photos...

Made the kids miss their fathers.....

Sat them in an egg and then decided to take them home.

I'm about to hit PUBLISH on my first ever solo post. I hope it looks good. I still need to post the video of Bennett laughing at and reacting to the Meerkats. I tried to do it here, but maybe it needs it's own little post. At any rate....here goes!

Success!! Although you must have been sitting at a different table for lunch than me and Nia. I don't remember it being too delightful.
