Swiss Days

My mom was the Swiss Days rep for her ward this year and she worked her little butt off. This is a major production, not just fun, games, food and crafts. WORK! Anyway, she had to fill several shifts and one of the shifts she had to fill was pricing the bake sale items from 1-4 on Thursday. Well, she couldn't seem to get it filled so she was going to take the day off work. I didn't think that was very cool, so Nats and I went down to help. The amount of baked goods that came in to be sold is totally unimagineable. People bring in their goods and we had to put them on trays, into bags and slap a price on them. You can see Natalee standing here in a virtual sea of treats. Behind me there were tables on a stage loaded with more treats. The stage floor was covered with boxes of Bratzlies (flat swiss cookies).

Then there is more. Here she is next to the racks of Swiss Bread. They line the walls on the far left of the above photo. I was totally in shock that all of this comes in as donations from the Wards of the Midway Stake to raise money for the General Missionary Fund. It was amazing and we had lots of fun being part of it.

We also got to enjoy some of the Swiss Days fun and went back on Friday with Grandpa to eat and look at the booths, but for a minute we got to see a teentsy bit of how much work it actually takes too pull this event off.
